Awesome Gloves
19 October 2023 by Chris O
Bought these gloves to replace a pair I had that were advertised as waterproof but definitely not.

These gloves on the other hand ... no pun intended were amazing . I've been on a 40 min ride in the hammering rain and my heads stayed dry throughout. Would definitely recommend.

Great Gloves

These gloves are great value and fits perfectly. So far been warm and waterproof, soon bedded in and looking forward to many winter miles on the daily commute.

Awkward
26 March 2023 by Anonymous
Nice feel to these. Kept my hands warmer than my other gloves.
Can be a bit fiddly and awkward to get off and the toggle string mechanism is pointless. It does nothing except get in the way of the Velcro.

Over designed, under performed.
17 December 2022 by Mr W
These gloves are pretty poor, to be honest. They are nicely finished, the leather and stitching is good and they have a soft suede visor wipe on the index finger. But they radically fail in three ways.
Firstly, they are not very warm. I know it has been below zero recently when i wore them, but even in combination with handlebar muffs my fingers froze. So much for "Thinsulate".
Secondly, the wrist flap tightening arrangement is over thought out and over complicated. Opening the velcro flap actually tightens the wrist enclosure, making getting the gloves on and off much more of a struggle than is remotely necessary and it's counter intuitive needing the flap to be half opened and a tab to be pulled to loosen the tape that binds the wrist. Everybody else that is sane uses elastic!
Finally, the cuffs are too bulky to be easily pushed inside a jacket's cuffs and conversely too tight to fit outside them. How "Ride" magazine recommends these gloves I will never know.

Great and totally waterproof
22 September 2022 by Mike P
I bought these gloves for a big tour from the UK to Istanbul - on tour as I write this review. I've covered some big mileages in heavy rain and they have been totally dry. Hands are warm down to about 8°C but below that it's time for the heated grips. I got caught by an unexpected downpour and by the time I'd stopped my hands were wet and they were very difficult to get on but I like my gloves tight fitting so a bigger size might help with that. All in all I'm very happy with these gloves and they're also very comfortable. I even quite like the closure system.

Warm but wet after long journey
10 January 2022 by John D
Keep hands mostly warm. Not waterproof, especially on long wet journeys. And an absolute pain to get on when hands are just a little wet. Maybe I should have got a bigger size, but the issue is the inner fleece liner, not very practical for more people than one trip on a wet day, and take a while to dry out.

Quality Pair of Gloves
02 December 2021 by Clive S
I make my living riding motorbikes and ride all year in all weathers.
These gloves have been excellent, warm and dry which for the price is spot on. I have seen some comments of the wrist closure which is different but I think it works really well. Nice to see a bit of innovation!!

Comfortable but removing is awkward
27 October 2021 by Ian B
Gloves are warm and should be waterproof as gortex (not yet tested) but wrist tightening/losening feature is not the best. Tightens ok as you fix the velcro in place but fails to losen easily making taking off gloves awkward at times.

A little restrictive indeed
16 September 2021 by Anonymous
They are difficult to get into due to the cuff system once they are a bit fluffed up when wet. It does get in the way, as others seem to have reported.

Oh also, it was slightly difficult to control the clutch until you got used to it due to the roomy fingers.

I did ride through torrential rain with nigh zero visibility ahead on the motorway though and once they are on they did work and felt comfortable. So they did the work they were bought for, but I'd definitely put them on for severe weather only for long distances.

Awesome Gloves
22 June 2019 by Adam D
I've spent most of my biking life searching for warm dry winter gloves.
I've found them in the Stratos.
The cuff isn't so long that it interferes with your jacket (I'm and gloves under rider). They have a unique wrist strap. It takes a little getting used to, but becomes 2nd nature quickly.
I ride an XT1200 so hand guards give some "pinky" protection but I didn't need my Gerbings at all this winter. I didn't get wet hands either and I suffered more than a couple of downpours (400mls per week commute)
Overall I would recommend these without a second thought.

Great Fit and Great Feel
20 March 2019 by Ankush S
This review does not cover the heat retention and insulation as the weather has been mild since I have got them. For all other aspects - this glove hits a home run. It easy to take on and because of the self fastening feature. It has an excellent grip and feel of the throttle through the glove, snug and well protected and even when the temperature changes it doesn't make the hands sweat. Although I can imagine it to be a different story in the summer. In short the company's reputation is truly built on credible and high quality products - you are not just paying for the name. Sportsbikeshop as always is quite prompt and easy to purchase off.

Ok
28 January 2019 by Paul
Had these gloves for a few months now and they are still a bit of a struggle to get past the wrist guard (I expected them to have broken in by now).

Very slim and comfy once on. However my jacket's wrists are even slimmer so they have to go on the outside of the sleeve. Unfortunately this makes them anything but waterproof as I find they leak at the point of the central fastening thingy that lets you fasten and unfasten each globe with one hand. Because of this it's hard to tell how waterproof the rest of the glove is.

As with other reviewers I've found they they are comfortable down to about 5 or 6 degrees centigrade before the heated grips need come on.

Overall they score not brilliant (probably due to my jacket) but not awful as they are comfy. A good buy for Spring and/or Autumn.

I used them up to 5C temp and i have to say that i dont need to turn on my heating grips. fast zip-I dont really use it but its working good, i just put in and out my hands. this gloves are fully waterproof so far. finger to whipe water works better then rubber blade in my other gloves.

Very good
02 November 2018 by Sascha
I wanted to use them a while before to write my review and here we go: The gloves are very comfortable and not bulky compared to other winder gloves. I have used them in temperature as low as 0/-3 and after 10/15 min of riding the cold will hit you (luckily for me I have heated grips).
I have tried them also under the rain and Gore-Tex is a guarantee! It kept my hands totally dry during my 30/40 min commuting (mostly highway). I consider the opening and closing system that they sell as extremely clever as a pain in the ***, it makes very annoying put the gloves on and remove them because you can't property open them. Easily fixable cutting the end of the strap and they're now much much better. I bought the same size as all my other gloves they're spot on. Overall a good winter gloves especially if used with heated grips (a UK/Ireland must have on my opinion).

Not bad

Used these for the last two weeks, in rain and cold mornings (10-12c temp). Waterproof works, fingers felt cold after 30 mins, not freezing cold but very numb, had to whack the heated grips on to make it comfortable. Not sure how they will fare in under 10c. Deffo need heated grips! Size ok, little bulky but will see how it copes in the next few months.
