Excellent jeans

I tried at least 10 different pairs of motorcycle jeans (AA or AAA rated) and these were by far the best for me. The cut of the leg is fairly slim, but leaves plenty of room for you to fit the armour in without them starting to become too tight. Some other brands seem to have very skinny legs, so if you're a big calved lad, these should work well for you. They are very well made, and considering they're a AAA rated single layer jean, they don't feel too heavy. The fit is excellent. They come in smaller waist size increments, but only one (long) leg length. I think it's a great idea to have more waist sizes to choose from as it's easy to get them taken up, but allows you to get the perfect fit for wearing on and off the bike. I had the leg taken up (but you could just roll them up). I'm a 32 leg, and had them taken up by about an inch. Can't tell you the cost, cos me good 'ol mum did it! The waist is cut slightly higher at the back and lower at the front, which is perfect for a riding position, and many riding jeans don't do this causing them to pull down too much at the back, or you end up with loads of bunching at the front. There's a bit of stretch on the fabric, which makes them extremely comfortable when I tried them on both an adventure bike and a sports bike. There's a hook to attach to some Spidi jackets, which works well (tried with Evorider 2). You can also get a Spidi "match belt" which incorporates a full length zip, and you loop through your belt so you can zip your jacket to it. I bought this separately and it works well with my Spidi leather jacket (Evorider 2). But I have a Spidi textile jacket (Armakore) which weirdly has a totally different length and size zip, and no hook attachment, so watch for that.
The Level 1 armour is very comfortable, thin and discreet, and the hip armour coverage is very impressive, and doesn't make you look really wide. The knee armour is right on the cusp of level 2, but just misses out on the rating. I personally replaced the hip armour with SAS-TEC HB21 level 2 armour (had to trim a tiny bit off the top and bottom). I replaced the knee armour with SAS-TEC KB2 level 2 armour. That was only because I wanted level 2 armour, but really the standard stuff is very nice. Use small dots of cyanoacrylate glue (superglue) to glue some wide strips of Velcro to the fabric side of the SAS-TEC armour and you can use the same Velcro attachment point as the standard Spidi armour. There's loads of height adjustment in the armour (Spidi or after-market). They are expensive, there's no denying it. But for me, they were definitely worth it. Other details like the gusset in the crotch mean they feel and fit like a jean that's been designed to be worn on a bike, rather than a fashion jean which has had armour put in and doesn't fit so well in a riding position. The leg opening would probably allow you to slip them over boots that don't have a huge shin protector - I'm wearing them with the Dainese Sport Master boots and they look great. Overall, I'm extremely pleased, and would highly recommend them!

Just great jeans once I've put in more supple armour and had them shortened as only able to source one length. Just bought my second pair as I don't want to be without them. Really comfortable riding jeans even when it's really hot.

I was searching for replacements for my old Richa Schoeller summer glove, which were just the right balance between lightweight fabric, leather and hard plastic, providing palm and knuckle protection in a couple of 'offs'. These Spidi's were the closest I could find. Stylish, lightweight, super comfortable, and very cool to wear on the few hot days weve had....
However they are little more than a slightly beefed up motocross glove, very thin fabric on the back of the hand, and so relatively expensive for what they are.
For spotrsbike riders, they're nice, but by comparison with what I was trying to replace, I couldn't recommend.
