Drift Ghost XL Action Camera

Having been knocked off and hospitalized , I thought it better to get a camera just in case, plus can take it in the truck too, have been using it for my commute to work for a month or so and everything seems to work fine, good picture quality, but sound lets it down with the wind noise, but happy enough with how its preforming and hopefully it will carry on as some have had problems

Well I've finally got one that works OK. Last year I bought a Drift Camera and left a review called, "Must have been a Friday afternoon job". Well that camera was replaced by Sportsbikeshop for a new one. The replacement was worse than the one I sent back. I actually rode to Sportsbikeshop with it recording, as I couldn't turn it off. By the time I'd arrived at the SBS, it was boiling hot. I decided at that stage to get a refund, as I just couldn't trust this camera to do anything that it was supposed to do. The SBS were as always spot on with their customer service. Over the winter period I decided to give it another go, as I do like the camera and the battery life, and also having a video record of anything that should happen if the worst comes to the worst. Well I'm pleased to say the so far ( Touch wood ) all seems to be well. I've been out with it over the last month, and have had no issues with it at all. The quality of the picture for me, is brilliant, it might not meet the standards that some You Tube vloggers want, but for me it's just fine. I don't have the volume up, as I'm not making video's, so that aspect of the camera ( which has come in for criticism ) doesn't bother me either. I've only given it 4 stars, as Drift should really concentrate on fixing the glitches that other people have raised about these cameras. Also only time will tell if all with be well a year from now. I hope so.

This camera is well made easy to operate also the picture quality is very good. If a nasty occurs I shall have it recorded for my evidence.

This camera has great quality video and a great battery life. It is let down by the wind noise whilst moving over 15-20mph. Also, mine kept freezing and I was unable to hear se it even after resetting it. Sportsbikeshop sent it away to Drift who updated a firmware issue, which seems to have fixed the problem.

I returned to drift for its excellent battery life, I'm happy with that but the image stabilisation of my drift X-Large is not as good as I remember. I have now changed the settings to record HDR and if that cures my problem I will be very happy but as yet I have been unable to test it!

I'm very happy with this camera, as long as you ignore the Android App for reasons other than to orientate the lens it works great and lasts a very long time. I had to use the onboard controls to navigate the settings but they are simple enough and to download the footage just connect to a PC and download from My Files.

Well made and simple to use when you get used to it. The buttons do multiple things so you end up pressing them a few times until you find the right one. Will be taking it on holiday as it makes an excellent video camera. Plug and play that works. Better than a bike mounted one as it records what you look at and don't have to battle to remove it from a bike mount.

I want to love this device, it looks good, has great functions and a battery life second to none. However, the one I have owned have proved unreliable and broken. Two functions didn't work straight out of the box on the second and it stopped working completely with two weeks... such a shame.
Great service as always from Sportsbikeshop, refund on its way so I think I am going to have to Go down a Pro route for the reliability I would expect in this price bracket.

Perfect for my role as a bike instructor. Often use different bikes so went for helmet mount on side. No problem as the lens can be rotated through 360 to provide best view. I went for this as driving standards seem to be getting worse and wanted the 'insurance' of HD camera footage. Top tips, get a good SD card I went 64gb class 10. I have since bought the plug in mic as the inbuilt one is fine but over 20mph just wind 'white noise'.

After reading reviews and researching camera's suitable for mounting on a bike I opted for the drift ghost xl. Excellent features and good value. I also bought the BT wrist remote. Excellent service as usual from SBS.

Excellent value camera, does exactly what it says with a handy dash cam feature. Got my lad to set it up in the end with software update etc, quicker for him to do it! Service was excellent and free next day delivery!

The service from Sportsbikeshop was, as expected, excellent. The Drift XL is a good camera at an good price. Mounted on the side of my crash helmet using the sticky mount it captures all I need from an on-board camera. Quality of video is very good. The app, which you need to download to your device enables easier use in setting up the camera and viewing footage etc. The small in-built screen is not the easiest to use. The ability to turn the lens to level up image collection is a breeze and the mounting system enables fine vertical alignment. The self adhesive mount sticks securely and gives no concern. All in all an excellent camera. Plus, 9 hours of use for one charge is - g.
