Cardo Packtalk Edge Mesh Intercom - Single

Very easy to connect up other riders on group rides and very useful on long trips.

6 of us to Switzerland and back made the trip even better.

Can't hear much around 70mph with earplugs in. I've got moulded one's too. Might be better to have earplugs with speakers in them then pair with it for clearer audio. Think some off-the-shelf ear plugs provide better filtering of audio.

But don't regret buying it and love the small profile with integrated battery.

What we also did when battery got low (full day of riding lasts for, but in case you forget to charge or you're on a mission :-) ) was connect to a powerbank in backpack or bike and feed to charge port whilst riding.

So it charges whilst riding if needed.

Great bit of kit work amazing for listening to music while on a solo ride or talking to a mate while on a group ride.

I've had others coms other the years and had also taken of problems from installation, poor sound and bad battery life

With the Edge Iv had no problems at all, from the quick connection to your phone, easy to remove for your lid (so you don't have to charge your helmet, just the device. Also means you can pop it on a second lid with an optional second mount), easy to use app, the JBL speakers are amazing quality, I'd not buy anything else's now.

Wanted to upgrade from old headset due to faults so went for the edge. It's probably not right for the type of riding I do but wanted to for something that would last.
Voice commands not working as expected which is annoying.
I have the latest software and factory reset twice but voice commands are very inconsistent.
I'm happy with it overall and calls are very clear.

Fab piece of kit, me and my dad have clear comms.

The Scorpion helmet and Cardo are what we all know they are. The 16% discount on the Cardo when bought with a helmet is excellent. They will even apply it to the purchase of a Duo pack.

This is such an awesome piece of equipment. I bought it as a group I am part of stated how most of them have it, and when we go on group rides, we will be able to communicate. I haven't tried that yet, but I did ride about 400 miles with it on! The radio function on the app is crap, ignore it and use your usual choice of music (Apple/Prime/Spotify). I'm trying to use the voice prompts but it seems a bit hit and miss at the moment.
Check your helmet can accept this first. I have the HJC C70 and it isn't the best fit. I can manage about 2 hours with it on before I need to take it off for a few mins to let my head rest, but that isn't an issue, my ar*e usually wants a rest too then!
All in all, a great bit of kit, particularly if you ride with one or two other people

After easily opening an account I placed my first order and it came out to me the next day haven't used it yet as iam a fair weather rider and the great British weather has been it's less than ideal

Very impressed as always with the customer service at Sportsbikeshop - the team spending almost an hour showing me the features and functions of the Cardo compared to cheaper options.

Price wise, again Sportsbikeshop are at the sharp end and I couldn't find a better UK deal available.

So onto the Cardo Packtalk Edge: the quality of the kit is excellent. Fitting is straightforward and magnetic mount is secure and a pleasure to use. The Duo pack comes with the units already paired so after linking to the app in my phone they were ready for first use.

Sound quality is very good. Voice control actually works pretty much every time! Range is much better than my previous "cheap" option, but this is one area I would love to see even more improved range when just connected to one other rider so you cannot take advantage of the Mesh system fully.

Overall very happy with this purchase. Recommended.

I am currently touring Europe and have tested these with pillion passenger over 4,000 miles in varying weather from 15 to 38 degrees Celsius, torrential downpours and hail storms using HJC RPHA11 Carbon and HJC IS17 helmets. Sound quality is very good up to about 60 mph depending on wind speeds, after that it starts to get drowned out by wind noise but all these communicators do, I can still hear music past 60 mph but talking to your pillion gets drowned out. Helmet fitting was easier on the RPHA11 Carbon as it had pre cut grooves for wiring and speakers, the IS17 was trickier without the cut outs. Pairing up and getting the sound setting is really tricky and takes quite some time, it's a must to read/watch some reviews to help get them set up right! Also one main issue I've found is when using my iPhone with TomTom app for navigation I can only share the audio with pillion passenger if the music sharing is on so there is always music distracting from directions, otherwise I have to listen on my own, I think this is a major flaw with Cardo's software which I hope they provide an update for in future! The magnetic attachment is brilliant and it will holds in place very securely. The rubber flap for charging cable is a little poorly designed but it works if you close it correctly and I've tested in downpours and it's definitely waterproof. Another niggle is turning on and off having to hold down two buttons gets tiresome quickly, I would prefer a dedicated on/off switch. Overall great communicators and would recommend!
